Sri Lanka was the first country we visited on our mammoth trip around the world. I loved Sri Lanka, it’s a beautiful country and the people are very friendly and proud of their country. We were always getting asked what we thought of Sri Lanka by the locals.
Not another soul on the beach (apart from Serena) and a few washed up jellyfish. Do jellyfish have souls?

Pulling a face at Adams Peak
Here I am descending Adams Peak (Sri Prada). It was hard going walking up and down the sacred Peak. That said there were some very elderly pilgrims doing the very same so I had no excuses.
You leave your accommodation in the small town of Dalhousie at midnight so you can reach the top to witness the amazing sunrise. It’s an unforgettable experience.
Adam’s Peak is 2,243 m (7,359 ft) high and there are over 5000 steps to the top. It’s hard going on the knees but well worth the effort.
